A Summer Wedding at Oaktree Farm / Tess & Zach

We always say there’s no wrong way to have your wedding. Big or small, inside or outside, three course meal or food truck… there is no “correct” decision, you’ve just got to do what feels right to you as a couple.

Tess and Zach’s wedding was a perfect example of this, as they planned a wedding that was really personalised to them. Tess’s dad made the wooden welcome sign, a friend officiated their ceremony, and they wrote their own vows for their outdoor ceremony.

Oaktree Farm was the perfect location, as they could really make the day their own in a beautiful countryside setting.

Not everything always goes to plan though, with the outdoor ceremony being postponed due to a downpour. Tess and Zach, and their guests, were absolute troopers, and were rewarded with a twenty minute window of sunshine before the next rain shower. That’s one plus of having a more informal wedding - you’ve got a bit of wiggle room with any unpredictable weather!

The sun finally broke through and we were given a gorgeous afternoon for a pizza van, a hog roast, and a Chinese Lion Dance.

Tess and Zach received both photography and videography from us, and we think that having both mediums compliment each other perfectly. Photography captures a moment in time, freezing a split-second to be revisited over and over. Video transports you back to the moment, so you can relive the hugs and the laughs again and again.

With the dancefloor in full swing, we snuck Tess and Zach out for one more couple shoot. That sunset was too good to miss! As you can see, taking those extra five minutes was totally worth it, before we all headed back to the tent to enjoy the rest of the party.
